There are three principal costs associated with owning a web site: the design and build costs, which in our case are paid by agreed instalments to assist your cash flow, the hosting and administration of your web site, which is normally a monthly charge and the cost of the domain name(s) you own, which typically require(s) renewal every two years.
Intunet is a hosting company as well as a web development firm. Intunet offers its clients a high level Service Level Agreement on a dedicated hosting platform, including nightly backups (with seven days rolling copies kept on file), server maintenance and patching, email mail server and support, locally based in Bournemouth.
Generally speaking the hosting and administration monthly cost covers most 'maintenance' issues, and this cost will be confirmed with you based on your specific requirements. For clients who require a dedicated maintenance agreement, Intunet offers programmes to cater for site updates, pro-active advice and SEO (search engine optimisation). Please let us know your requirements and we can design a programme tailored to your needs, with a monthly time allocation based on your budget.
If Intunet is creating a brand new web site, we will inform the major search engines about your new site, and they will 'index' the site within a few weeks of it being released. For existing sites which are re-builds, your current inbound links will see the search engines returning to re-index your sites roughly once a month anyway.
To assist with the ranking of the web site Intunet builds sites to best practices as standard; we can help with copy editing (rewriting page titles, headings, content etc. to properly use your keywords) or running a full SEO programme - to build links, manage pay-per-click (PPC) campaigns and monitor your competition.
This depends entirely on the complexity of what is required. As a rough guide a static 'brochure' type web site takes approximately 3-5 days to create; this is usually spread over 1-2 weeks. Bespoke sites usually start from 10 days labour spread over a month with Ecommerce sites taking around 6 weeks.
Web site copy happens in three ways; firstly Intunet uses the text as supplied by you - we'll check for basic typos and grammar. The second option is to supply us with your copy and Intunet copyedits the supplied text. Copy editing involves improving the copy for search engines by rewriting sections of it, to improve your keyword densities. The third option is copywriting; in this scenario Intunet creates all the copy for your web site.
Yes, Intunet will either give you the contact details for trusted third party photographers, or we can manage this ourselves. Another popular option is for Intunet to buy Royalty Free images from a picture library, ensuring there are no copyright infringements.
The Intunet graphic design department calls on several decades of experience, designing small logos and emblems to full corporate identities. Intunet can cover the full spectrum of graphic design. For clients requiring a web site logo, you'll need to account for a minimum seven hours/one day's labour.
Intunet offers a fully scalable and professional Ecommerce solution to enable the online sale of goods and services. You will need to research the best payment gateway to match your needs; Intunet recommends Sage Pay (formerly Protx), Google Checkout and PayPal. You may also need to arrange an online Merchant ID from your Bank (required with Sage Pay).
On instruction, Intunet requires a 25% deposit along with the signed client instruction letter and completed direct debit mandate. The payment specifics and required amounts will be clearly identified in the proposal documentation. After instruction the content planner - the site blueprint - is written up, and passed to you for completion. After the content planner is completed by you, the design department create the site visuals, before the coders, programmers and developers work on the pages and site mechanics. The site will be then become available for you to play with on our development 'review' servers prior to you signing off the site and it being married up with the domain name and becoming live.
