In 2008 Topaz invested £50m rebranding Shell and Statoil stations after purchasing the Irish retail and commercial fuels businesses of Shell and Statoil in 2005 and 2006. Topaz provide National and International Fuel Cards accepted at 17,000 sites in 33 countries across Ireland, UK and Europe.
Topaz needed to bring the statoilcard.ie site (previously produced by Intunet) into alignment with its other online brand - Topaz.ie - produced by a third party media company.
Solution
A complete rebuild of the existing Statoilcard site design based around the CSS and XHTML framework from the new topaz.ie
Extending the new brand and design to work well with the extensive functionality provided on the new topazcard.ie site
We used the rebranding as an opportunity to increase the efficiency, usability and long-term maintainability of the site by rebuilding the back end systems using a more effective and modern web framework.
Results
The new topazcard.ie web site allows the thousands of Topaz Fuel Card users to apply online, order and stop their fuel cards, as well as review invoices and other vital business information.
